Horizon Central

I went to the Horizon Central’s ten year birthday last night.  What a lot of fun that was.  Seeing old friends and Jerry Barnaby was right when he said that the kids were the only ones who looked any older and man they did.  When did the Speelman kids get so big and the Lyons girl singing what a beautiful voice but never would have recognized her had Tracy not filled me in.  Hearing the storys was fun.  So many challenges which take time to look back on and laugh, cause in the thick of it laughing is not the first reaction that comes to mind.  What a lot of cool ministries have come from Central that continue to grow and impact lives for Christ.  I’m glad God had me there ten years ago to be part of it and plan on being around thru KIDS inc. for a long time to come Lord willing.

Harry

January 12, 2008 at 8:55 pm (Uncategorized)

I had a friend and neighbor pass away last week.  He had lived a full life, but was not slowing down.  Always wanting to help, offering advice or tools for every project.  He was hauling gravel in his dump truck, putting in a big garden every year; always had a project going,  he was great.  And now he’s gone, just like that.

I went to the funeral and the person speaking said we all need to be ready (saved is what he meant).   But God showed me another type of ready.  I ‘m not sure if Harry was or wasn’t saved, I meant to get over there and talk to him about Jesus.  We talked about other stuff.  I wasn’t ready for him to leave yet.  I was going to tell him about Jesus.  Maybe he already made his peace with God, I dont know, but that is not the point.  Was I faithful and ready to do what GOD had put on my heart to do? That is the question.   Sadly the answer is I was going to and never did.  We all have opportunities to do what God wants us to right now.  We need to be ready to answer the call and take risks, step out in faith and we need to be patient yes, but when God says move, Move.  We might not have tomorrow.

I was wise man once said “Only what we have invested in the eternity of souls will last forever”.  Joe

cyberblog and the rooster

December 31, 2007 at 2:46 pm (general)

This blog is our attempt to stay in touch with our friends.  So here it goes.

Our friends the Kosobucki’s showed us their blog and at the time their friends area needed some help.  This was only because of the newness of the site.  The Koso’s have more friends than anyone I know.  So here we are.

We have enjoyed Christmas.  Took a few weeks off and had some fun hanging out at the farm.  We have a couple of acres in central Indiana that we call home.  We have 3 dogs, 4 cats and no mice or other varmits for that matter.  Tracy also has a chicken coop, complete with 12 laying hens and one bad rooster.  It is the funniest thing to watch  Tracy get the eggs.  She’ll poke her head in the coop to see if the coast is clear and grab the broom and begin to joust with the Killer (he is big).  Sometimes she wins and gets the eggs, but sometimes she loses and gets pecked.  I think a fresh chicken dinner is on the horizon.  More to come.  The Hadleys
